Getting Started

Create your Wavos account, connect Instagram, and make your first post in about five minutes.

Creating an Account

Go to app.wavos.ai. Continue with Google, or use your work email and password. New users can select Create an account; existing users can use Forgot password? when needed.

Find Your Way Around

The top bar shows your credit balance and a + Create shortcut. Click your name and email at the bottom of the sidebar to open your profile or log out.

Your First Post in Five Minutes

1. Connect Instagram. Open Connections → Instagram → Connect another and authorize a Business or Creator account. Personal accounts cannot connect.
2. Set your brand voice. Optionally open Profile → AI preference to add custom instructions and up to five brand colors.
3. Create. Open Create, keep Carousel selected, describe the post you want, and press Enter.
4. Refine. Use a suggestion such as “Make it punchier,” or type your own instruction. Each refinement costs one credit.
5. Ship it. Choose an Instagram account, then publish now, schedule for later, or download the slides as JPEGs.

Everything you generate is saved automatically in Content. Scheduled posts also appear in Calendar, and you can reopen a project later with its conversation intact.

Create is the AI Content Studio. Give it a brief, receive finished copy and artwork, then refine the result through conversation.

The Composer

Describe what the post is about and who it is for, then press Enter or click the send arrow. The format chip shows what you are making; the + button opens Content options.

Carousel works best for teaching, lists, and breakdowns. Single image is useful for news and one-idea posts. Caption produces copy only when you are supplying the image yourself.

Layout Templates

A template fixes the slide structure while the AI writes fresh copy and chooses imagery and colors for your brief. Available layouts include:

Select a template to preview its slides, page through with the arrows, and choose Use this template.

Refine and Resize

After generation, the conversation stays on the left and the Latest result appears on the right. Open the slide preview to page through the full post.

• Use quick actions such as Make it punchier, Shorten it, More playful tone, Add a stronger hook, or Add a call to action.
• Write a precise instruction such as “cut the third slide” or “make the cover red.” Earlier versions remain in the conversation.
• Convert to another size creates a new version at another aspect ratio while keeping the same copy. The original remains available.

Credits

• Carousel generation: 1 credit per slide
• Single-image generation: 1 credit
• Each refinement turn: 1 credit

Content contains everything your workspace has created, whether it was published or not.

Filter by Status

• Total: Every project in the workspace.
• Drafted: Generated but never scheduled or published.
• Published: Live on a connected account.
• Failed: A publishing attempt did not complete.
• Scheduled: Queued for a future date and time.

Content Cards

Each card shows the cover image, slide count where applicable, caption preview, format, date and time, and a status pill for Scheduled, Published, or Failed items. Drafts have no status pill.

Click a card to reopen the Studio project with its full conversation. You can continue refining, convert to another size, reschedule, or publish. Larger libraries use Prev and Next pagination.

Calendar shows your publishing week and lets you define recurring times when your team prefers to publish.

The Week View

• Use the arrows to move backward or forward one week, or select Today to return to the current week.
• Each scheduled post appears under its day with its time and the opening text of its caption.
• Click a scheduled post to reopen it in the Studio.

Add Availability

Select Availability, then + Add slot. Choose Daily, Weekly, or Every N days; set the relevant days, time, start date, and IANA timezone.

Existing slots show as a recurring sentence, such as “Every Mon at 9:00 AM (America/Los_Angeles).” Toggle a slot off to keep it without deleting it.

Publish from the block at the bottom-right of any Studio project. You need a connected Instagram Business or Creator account.

Publish Now

1. Open Choose accounts and select a connected Instagram handle.
2. Review the slides and caption. Refinements can change both.
3. Select Publish to Instagram. The status changes to Published and the post appears under Published in Content.

Schedule for Later

1. Select the Instagram account.
2. Choose Schedule and pick a date and time, or use a Next available slot from Calendar availability.
3. The post appears in Calendar and under Scheduled in Content. Reopen it from either place to schedule it again.

Download JPEGs

Download JPEGs saves the rendered slides for manual posting or reuse. The caption is not included, so copy it separately from the result panel. This is also a useful fallback if an Instagram account cannot connect.

If Publishing Fails

• Reconnect if Instagram access expired or was revoked.
• Confirm the account is still Business or Creator rather than Personal.
• During Meta review, confirm the account is an approved test account.

After fixing the cause, reopen the project from Content and publish again.

Auto-Reply watches comments and DMs received by connected Instagram accounts and responds on your behalf.

Instagram Keyword Comment-to-DM

When someone comments a matching keyword on an Instagram post, Wavos automatically sends that person a private DM. Configure the keyword and private-message response in the Wavos app, not through MCP.

For example, ask people to comment “GUIDE” on your post and configure a matching rule to privately send them the link to your guide. The trigger is their new comment; they do not need to send you an incoming DM to trigger this workflow.

Sending a private DM from a matching comment is different from replying publicly to the comment or replying to an incoming DM. The live private-DM workflow does not imply a combined public reply plus private DM action, follower gating, story triggers, or multi-step message sequences.

How Rules Work

Rules run from top to bottom. The first match handles the activity. Put narrow keyword rules above broad catch-all rules.

Create a Rule

• Account: The connected Instagram account to watch.
• Rule name: A recognizable internal label.
• Trigger: Instagram comment or Instagram DM. Mention is coming soon.
• Response: For a matching Instagram comment, configure a private DM to the commenter or a public comment reply. For an incoming Instagram DM, configure a reply to that message. These describe the available workflows, not exact action labels in the app.
• When to reply: Everything or only matching keywords. Add each keyword by typing it and pressing Enter.
• Reply guidance: Instructions specific to this rule, layered on top of the brand voice in Profile → AI preference.

A Practical Rule Order

1. A “template” keyword rule with guidance explaining where to get the template.
2. A “price / cost / how much” rule directing people to the link in bio.
3. An Everything rule giving a short, warm response to all other comments.

Comments and DMs

Use these tabs as live feeds of incoming activity. Filter by account and select Refresh to pull the latest. They remain empty until Instagram sends a real webhook. Later rules do not run after the first match, so place a specific keyword comment-to-DM rule above broader comment rules that could match the same activity.

Connections is where you authorize the accounts Wavos publishes to and engages from.

Platform Availability

Connect Instagram

Instagram requires a Business or Creator account. In Instagram, switch under Settings and privacy → Account type and tools → Switch to professional account if you currently use a Personal account.

1. Open Connections → Instagram → + Connect another.
2. Authorize through Meta and grant every requested permission. Publishing, comment reading, and DM reading use separate permissions.
3. The account appears in the list and becomes available in the Studio publish panel.

Disconnecting

Use the delete control on the account row. Scheduled posts targeting a disconnected account will fail, so reconnect first when you are only refreshing authorization.

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, or another compatible MCP client so it can publish and schedule to your connected Instagram accounts.

Connect Claude

1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
2. Paste the Wavos server URL.
3. Sign in to Wavos and approve the connection.
4. To allow Claude to upload generated content to Wavos, open Settings → Capabilities, scroll to Domain whitelist, and add wavos-render-production.s3.amazonaws.com.

Connect ChatGPT

1. Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
2. Paste the Wavos server URL.
3. Sign in to Wavos and approve the connection.

Exact field names can vary by ChatGPT plan and version. Use the option for adding a standards-compliant OAuth connector. The same URL works in any MCP-over-HTTP client that supports OAuth.

Manage Connections

Approved clients appear under MCP connections with their name and connection time. Select Revoke to immediately end a client's access; reconnecting requires another OAuth approval.

What a Connected Client Can Do

• Publish or schedule to a connected Instagram account.
• Publish an existing Wavos-generated post by message ID.
• Upload its own images and publish them as a single image or carousel.

A client acts as you. Its publishing actions affect your account, and uploaded images cost 0.5 credits each. Revoke clients you no longer use.

The Wavos MCP server exposes four tools for publishing and uploading Instagram content.

schedule_post

Publish immediately or schedule for later. Supply exactly one content source:

• message_id for a post already generated in Wavos.
• caption plus media_urls for publicly accessible images.
• caption plus upload_ids for images uploaded through the tools below.

account_username is always required and must exactly match a connected Instagram username without the @ symbol. Omit scheduled_for to publish now; otherwise send an ISO 8601 datetime with a timezone offset or Z.

begin_image_uploads

Start presigned uploads for one to six PNG, JPEG, or WebP files. Pass an ordered mime_types array. Each file can be up to 5MB.

The response contains an upload URL, required form fields, and an upload ID for each image. POST each matching file directly to its URL as multipart field file, including every returned form field.

complete_image_uploads

Pass the upload IDs in the original order to verify and finish them. The result returns ready upload IDs for schedule_post. This operation is safe to retry.

upload_images

This base64 fallback accepts up to six image objects with data and mime_type. Use it only for small payloads; the presigned upload flow is preferred.

Standard Upload Flow

Profile stores the brand context that shapes every generation. Spending ten minutes here reduces repeated refinements later.

Profile

• Logo: Upload a JPG or PNG up to 5MB, replace it, or remove it.
• Bio: Describe what you make, who it is for, and what you sell. The bio is AI context, not a public profile.

AI Preference

Custom AI instructions are standing rules applied to every generation, with a 2,000-character limit. Prefer specific, testable instructions such as “Short sentences,” “Never open with a rhetorical question,” or “Write for agency owners who understand APIs.”

Add up to five brand colors as hex values. Two or three strong colors often produce more consistent results; leave the list empty when you want the AI to choose its own palette.

Brand Info

Choose Creator, Agency, Small business, or Ecommerce, then select goals such as Grow my audience, Save time, Drive more sales, or Stay consistent.

Credits power AI generation in Wavos. Publishing, scheduling, and auto-replies do not spend credits.

Wallet

• Credit balance: Current credits, active plan, renewal date, and upgrade shortcut.
• Usage this cycle: Credits used and the next reset date.
• Recent activity: A paginated ledger of Spend and Grant entries with timestamps and amounts.

Your balance also appears in the top bar. Select it to open Wallet.

What Costs Credits

• Carousel: 1 credit per slide.
• Single image: 1 credit.
• Studio refinement: 1 credit per turn.
• MCP image upload: 0.5 credits per image.
• Publishing, scheduling, and auto-reply: 0 credits.

Plans

New accounts start with a 7-day free trial. No credit card required. Pro is billed monthly, with no annual plan. You can cancel a paid subscription at any time, and unused credits roll over for 30 days.

Team is a preview of upcoming workspace collaboration and is currently marked Soon.

Planned Member Access

• Create, edit, and schedule posts.
• Publish to connected accounts.
• Manage auto-reply rules.

The workspace owner remains in control. Select Notify me on the Team page to receive the launch announcement.

Manage your brand preferences, credits, plan, support requests, and account lifecycle from the Account section.

Account Deletion

To request permanent deletion, visit the account deletion page and submit the email associated with your Wavos account.

• Account data is removed from active systems within 30 days after the request is confirmed.
• Residual encrypted backup data expires within 90 days.
• Scheduled posts and disconnected access tokens stop functioning as deletion proceeds.

File and track support tickets, or use these checks to resolve common account, publishing, and automation issues.

File a Ticket

Open Support and select + New ticket. Add a concise subject, describe what happened, choose Low, Medium, High, or Urgent priority, and attach useful screenshots.

Include the post status, Instagram handle, and the time the issue occurred. Track tickets through All, Open, Pending, Resolved, and Closed filters.

Instagram Won't Connect

• Confirm the account is Business or Creator, not Personal.
• During Meta review, confirm it is an approved test account. Otherwise use Download JPEGs and post manually.
• Run the connection flow again and grant publishing, comment, and DM permissions.

A Post Failed

Reconnect under Connections → Instagram, reopen the project from Content, and publish again. Expired access, revoked access, or an account switched back to Personal are common causes.

An Auto-Reply Did Not Fire

• Rules only process new activity received after the rule was created.
• The first matching rule wins; move narrow rules above catch-all rules.
• Confirm the rule watches the correct account and its keywords match.
• Check Comments or DMs and select Refresh. These feeds depend on real Instagram webhooks.

Other Quick Checks

• Wrong voice or colors: Update Profile → AI preference and Brand info.
• Out of credits: Check Wallet activity, then open Plans & Billing. Shorter carousels use fewer credits.
• Wrong publishing hour: Check the availability slot timezone. MCP datetimes must include an offset or Z.
• MCP stopped working: Confirm the client remains listed under MCP connections. If revoked, reconnect and approve it again through OAuth.
